Happenings in the life of me:
Still going to CCAD for those of you who were worried (read: probably none of you). At the end of my last Junior semster, so the whole reality of graduating is definately starting to set in. Classes are going well...kind of, my Character Design is proving to be diffcult. I'll rephrase that, Character Design is flat out KICKING THE SHIT OUT OF ME!!! I've never had a class actually get the best of me, but Character Design has me in a full mount while it brutally smashes my face in (sorry, I've been watching a lot of UFC lately). Thankfully enough though, it has made me churn out some high quality work. If you've seen my last few submissions you should be able to see a definate change in my work. The class is more or less a boot camp for animators, my GPA will probably suffer and it's slowly taking years off my life span but my work will be better for it.
In the time since my last jounal entry I have gotten into something I almost forgot I was good at, performance. Not so much the theatrical stage fare I'm used to, but something that has practical applications to my carrer as an animator. Voice acting, I have been lending my talents to my fellow students in quite as few projects as of late, as well doing all the sound and voice for my own projects. I would be posting some of my work here on DA, but they're strange when it comes to sound files. The icing on the cake came just today when an old professor of mine asked me to lay some vocals down for a 30 second commercial he was hired for. Should the client accept my voice for the character they need, I will be getting paid for it. That's right...PAID! As in cashy money. I've never actually gotten paid for something pertaining to my carrer choice. That and it will be a great portfolio piece.
Signing off for now, if been working all weekend and I need sleep.

"Shove a bastard in it you crap!"
I'm not gonna lie to you, the first year is very difficult, unless you know how to handle it. My advice to you, plan your work load, don't let things pile up, and get to know your teachers.
Just stick with it and don't get yourself too worked up, you'll do fine
